Planing without limits...
Conventional electric planers often run up against obstacles during practical use because of their design limitations related to rebate depth and overall tool weight. Festool has overcome these obstacles by introducing a host of solutions that guarantee improved results, effortless operation and greater versatility.
The HL 850 E
Using an electric planer right up to the edge or on rebates often produces unsatisfactory results, as the machine leaves a lip that has to be removed by hand - unless you have the Festool HL 850 E planer.
The HL 850 E lets you cut flush to an adjacent surface because it can plane across the entire width of the rebate.
Because the planer head is just mounted on one side, it sits flush with the opposite side of the planer housing.
It's also safe. The side guard swings up as the rebate depth increases. Planing up to the edge in deep rebates is no longer a problem.
